On the 20th, the 2025 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO Media Day & Fan Fest was held at the Lotte Hotel World.
The event was attended by the managers of the 10 teams, along with KIA’s Na Sung-bum, Kim Do-young, Samsung’s Koo Ja-wook, Kang Min-ho, LG’s Park Hae-min, Hong Chang-ki, Doosan’s Yang Eui-ji, Kim Taek-yeon, KT’s Jang Seong-woo, Kang Baek-ho, SSG’s Kim Kwang-hyun, Park Seong-han, Lotte’s Jeon Jun-woo, Yun Dong-hee, Hanwha’s Chae Eun-sung, Kim Seo-hyun, NC’s Park Min-woo, Kim Hyung-jun, and Kiwoom’s Song Seong-mun and Lee Joo-hyung, among others, representing the 10 teams in the KBO League.
Before the official Media Day event started, a Fan Fest zone was operated. Various events and fan giveaways were prepared, such as photo booths featuring frames with KBO League mascots, commemorative photo sessions at the photo wall, writing pledges for victory, and creating cheer slogans on sketchbooks.
The 2025 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO Media Day was composed of two parts. In the first part, the managers of the 10 teams revealed their resolutions and ambitions for the season.
In the second part, team members presented their feelings ahead of the season and participated in media interviews. Afterward, fans were able to ask questions on KBO's Instagram in a segment called 'What’s in My Fan Heart', where the players directly responded.
The managers and representative players of each team showcased their witty remarks, elevating the atmosphere of Media Day.
The event concluded successfully, but there were some voices expressing disappointment. There were calls for more consideration for regional teams.
Samsung’s Koo Ja-wook expressed a desire for the Media Day to be held earlier.
He noted, “It's disappointing to hold Media Day just two days before the opening. For regional teams, the round trip takes about 8 to 9 hours. Since this affects condition management, I believe we need to consider regional teams.”
Koo Ja-wook also mentioned, “I have suggested changing the Media Day schedule to KBO several times, but it hasn’t been reflected,” adding that “It would be best to hold Media Day before the opening of the exhibition games.”
KIA’s Na Sung-bum shared a similar opinion, stating, “I wish the season would start soon, and I feel a bit nervous as it’s the home opener in three years.” In response to a media remark that he looked “tired,” he admitted, “I am indeed tired because I have to go back to Gwangju.”
He added, “I hope Media Day would also be held in the regions. If given the opportunity, I think it would be nice to rotate among the regions.”
KBO hosts an orientation for rookie players of the 10 teams each year in Daejeon. There's also a way to set certain criteria and hold Media Day outside of Seoul instead of only hosting it there. It's necessary to listen to the voices of players from the regions.
