Winger Yang Min-hyeok, 19, who is active at Queens Park Rangers (QPR), has been recognized as a global prospect.
Yang Min-hyeok was included in the 'NXGN 2025' list of 50 announced by 'Goal.com' on the 18th (Korean time), ranking 43rd.
NXGN stands for 'Next Generation'. The list is composed of the top 50 teenage football players in the world born after January 1, 2006.
Yang Min-hyeok's parent club is Tottenham. He is currently on loan at QPR in the EFL Championship (the second division).
Goal.com noted, "The connection between Tottenham and Korea is well known thanks to Son Heung-min (Tottenham)," adding that Yang Min-hyeok, who signed with Tottenham last July, is expected to follow in Son Heung-min's footsteps.
Yang Min-hyeok, who scored 12 goals and provided 6 assists at Gangwon FC last year, wrapped up the K League 1 season and joined Tottenham early in December that year. After being loaned to QPR at the end of January, he made his debut in a match against Millwall on February 2. He started in the match against Derby County on February 15, recording his first assist and showcasing his presence. He has played in 8 matches so far, contributing 1 assist.
Based on his performance, Yang Min-hyeok has been called up to the South Korea national team ahead of the final qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup against Oman on the 20th and Jordan on the 25th.
The top spot in the NXGN 2025 list went to Lamine Yamal (18) from Barcelona. Goal.com evaluated, "Yamal is one of the best teenage players in the world, performing impressively for Barcelona and the Spanish national team."
Ranked 2nd to 5th are Esteban Willian (18, Palmeiras), Pau Cubarsi (18, Barcelona), Warren Zaïre-Emery (19, Paris Saint-Germain), and Endrick (19, Real Madrid).
Tottenham players were also included in the NXGN list. Archie Gray (19) from England and Lucas Bergvall (19) from Sweden ranked 13th and 17th, respectively, while youth graduate Mikey Moore (18) ranked 22nd.
