The women's professional basketball team Shinhan Bank welcomed Choi Yoon-ah, 40, as the new head coach.

Shinhan Bank said on the 20th, "We have appointed former national team coach Choi Yoon-ah as the new head coach."

Choi Yoon-ah, who graduated from Hannam University, is a 'one-club player' who played for Shinhan Bank from 2004 to 2017. She has experienced six regular league championships and seven championship victories.

She has served as a coach for the Shinhan Bank basketball team, BNK Some basketball team, and the women's national basketball team.

Shinhan Bank explained the background of the appointment, stating, "Despite the efforts of coach Koo Na-dan, acting coach Lee Si-jun, and the existing coaching staff over the past three years for Shinhan Bank's resurgence, we have determined that Choi Yoon-ah is the right fit due to the expiration of contracts, team rebuilding, and the improvement of the team's structure."

New head coach Choi Yoon-ah expressed her aspirations, stating, "I would like to thank the club owner and all the club officials for appointing me as the head coach of Shinhan Bank. I will create the strongest Shinhan Bank based on strong physical fitness and tight teamwork."

Shinhan Bank has appointed Mayumi Abe, who has extensive experience in Japan's W League, as the chief coach alongside Choi Yoon-ah.
