The 2025 Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) exhibition games, which concluded on the 18th, welcomed a total of 321,763 spectators over 42 games, setting a record with an average attendance of 7,661 spectators per game, the highest ever for exhibition games. The previous record for average highest attendance at exhibition games was 7,470 in 2012.
During the opening weekend of the exhibition games on the 8th and 9th, a total of 138,552 fans visited the stadium, showcasing the enthusiasm of fans who had been waiting for baseball during the off-season. Notably, on the 9th, over 70,000 spectators entered the stadium for the first time in an exhibition game, setting a record with 71,288 spectators, the highest daily attendance at an exhibition game.
Compared to the 2024 exhibition games (46 games), the average attendance per game increased by 2,697 (54.3%), and despite playing 4 fewer games, the total attendance increased by 93,434.
The average game duration was 2 hours and 45 minutes, which is an increase of 6 minutes compared to 2024. The average number of Samjin recorded per game was 15.12, and the number of walks was 7.86, reflecting increases of 6.7% and 12.3%, respectively, compared to last year.
The earned run average decreased from 4.35 last year to 3.89, showing a drop of 0.46, and the batting average decreased from .251 to .245.
The pitch clock, which will be officially introduced in the 2025 KBO League, witnessed a total of 17 violations during the exhibition games, with 13 violations by pitchers and 4 by batters. Among these, the most frequent violation was the 33-second rule between pitches, occurring 9 times.
Meanwhile, on the 20th at 2 p.m., the 2025 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO Media Day & Fan Fest will be held at Lotte Hotel World (Jamsil).
The event will feature the managers of each team, as well as KIA's Na Seong-beom, Kim Do-young, Samsung's Koo Ja-wook, Kang Min-ho, LG's Park Hae-min, Lim Chan-kyu, Doosan's Yang Eui-ji, Kim Taek-yun, KT's Jang Sung-woo, Kang Baek-ho, SSG's Kim Kwang-hyun, Park Seong-han, Lotte's Jeon Jun-woo, Yoon Dong-hee, Hanwha's Chae Eun-sung, Kim Seo-hyun, NC's Park Min-woo, Kim Hyeong-jun, and Kiwoom's Song Seong-moon, Lee Joo-hyung, among others. They will be the representatives and captains of the 10 KBO teams.
Before the official Media Day event begins, a Fan Fest Zone will be operated. Various events and fan giveaways have been prepared, including a photo booth featuring the KBO League mascot, a photo wall for commemorative photography, creating pledges in case the cheering team wins, and crafting cheering slogans.
Prior to the official event, a signing event will be held for 210 fans who hold designated seating tickets, with participation from players of the 10 teams.
The 2025 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO Media Day, starting at 2 p.m., will consist of two parts. The first part will feature the managers of the 10 teams presenting their statements and discussing their aspirations for the season.
In the second part, players will present their reflections ahead of the season and participate in media interviews. Afterward, an event titled 'What's in My Fan Heart' will take place, where players will directly answer questions left by fans in the comments on the KBO Instagram.
Questions submitted through the pre-event will be selected, one from each team, and fans who submitted selected questions will receive one Media Day admission ticket. The event details will be announced later through the KBO Instagram.
The event will conclude with a group photo session of the team, after which the players will hold separate interviews with the media.
