Tottenham has selected Yang Min-hyuk (19, QPR), who was not given any opportunities, as one of the world's top prospects.
'Goal.com' announced the selection of the top 50 teenage prospects who will lead the next generation of world-class footballers, sparking immense interest as Yang Min-hyuk is included among the Korean players.
After joining Tottenham in December last year and being loaned to QPR, Yang Min-hyuk ranked 43rd overall. This media outlet noted, "Yang Min-hyuk is a promising player who will lead Korean football after Son Heung-min." Yang Min-hyuk, a player on the national team, joined Tottenham in January from Gangwon. He is currently on loan to QPR.
Yang Min-hyuk is the third Korean player to be included in the 50-in-50 prospect list after Lee Seung-woo in 2016, and Lee Kang-in in 2019 and 2020. Both Lee Seung-woo and Lee Kang-in were recognized for their potential on the European stage and were selected for the national team. Yang Min-hyuk is now following in the footsteps of his seniors.
In addition to Yang Min-hyuk, many other prospects from Tottenham are included, including Mikey Moore, Lucas Berryval, Archie Gray, and Luka Yuskovic.
Head Coach Ange Postecoglou assessed Yang Min-hyuk saying, "He came from the opposite side of the globe. He needs time to adapt to the English stage," and subsequently sent him on loan to QPR without playing any matches.
However, other promising players from Tottenham's youth system are being treated differently. Postecoglou stated, "It's good to see Mikey, Wilson, Archie, and Lucas playing. They are working hard in training and are players who can make an immediate impact in games. They don't look like they are 18 or 19 years old; they will perform much better when they turn 21. We have a duty to develop them," and he is consistently featuring them in the first team matches.
