On the 14th, Daegu Metropolitan City appointed Won Tae-in, known as the 'Blue Blood Ace' and a pitcher for the Samsung Lions, as a promotional ambassador for the city and presented him with a certificate of appointment.

Won is expected to play a role in promoting Daegu widely at home and abroad for the next two years, and the city plans to actively discover local figures to promote Daegu's administration in the future.

Won, a Daegu native, spent his school years in Daegu before joining the Samsung Lions in 2019. Since then, he has consistently demonstrated outstanding skills and has grown into a player who draws attention in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) League.

He is loved by the citizens of Daegu as a proud sports star of the region, having achieved several notable accomplishments.

Notably, he has won the KBO Fair Play Award (2024), a gold medal in baseball at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games (2023), and the monthly MVP for April (2021), and he was also a player who led the Samsung Lions to 2nd place in the KBO League last year.

Won, who has been appointed a promotional ambassador for Daegu, is set to promote the city's attractions widely at home and abroad over the next two years in order to further enhance Daegu's image.

In addition to Won, who has been appointed this time, Daegu City will continue to actively discover local figures to respond to the increasing demand for administrative promotion, and aim to promote the city's governance in an innovative way, making it understandable and moving for the citizens.
