There may be a significant change in the Italian route that Tottenham has benefited from so far.

Spurs Web reported on the 17th (Korean time), citing Italian Gianluca Di Marzio, that a scout who officially left Tottenham in early 2023 is still working very closely with club executives, including Chairman Daniel Levy, but is now at risk of losing that consolidation.

Tottenham made changes to its scouting system in early the 2023-2024 season. Chief scout Leonardo Gabbanini left, and Johan Lange took office as the new Director General. Consequently, Rob Mackenzie was appointed as the head of scouting.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, even after Gabbanini officially left Tottenham, he is 'working closely and staying in contact with' Tottenham's leadership, including Chairman Daniel Levy.

Gabbanini is being evaluated for successfully securing undervalued players in the market by utilizing theories similar to 'moneyball' that help to preemptively seize values that others have not discovered through new and diverse records.

However, Gabbanini is reportedly currently receiving offers from three Premier League clubs and two Serie A clubs (Atalanta and Fiorentina). Additionally, a Saudi Arabia club is said to be under consideration.

Fabio Paratici, who hired Gabbanini during their time at Tottenham, has also been exchanging information with the club. Paratici joined Tottenham in 2021 after leaving Juventus and served as Director General until he suddenly stepped down in March 2023 due to his involvement in accounting fraud allegations from his time at Juventus.

However, Paratici has consistently provided information about potential recruits to Tottenham as a consultant. Players such as Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison, Destiny Udogie, and Radu Dragusin are reportedly under Paratici's involvement in their signings.

However, Paratici has recently emerged as one of the candidates for the Director General position at AC Milan, which could lead him to sever ties with Tottenham. It remains to be seen what this summer holds for Tottenham, which is at risk of losing the Italian connection that has brought in many players.
