System capable of checking up to 16 video screens simultaneously
More accurate and faster readings expected to reduce game time
The KBO has introduced the Hawk Eye (HAWK-EYE) replay system this year for more accurate and rapid video reviews.
Until last season, only one video could be reviewed per screen from multiple videos secured during the game for video reviews. Therefore, a certain amount of time was structurally required to check each video for accurate readings.
The Hawk Eye system, introduced this season, has been advanced to display multiple videos taken from various angles on a single screen simultaneously, allowing for more accurate and faster readings. This is also expected to reduce overall game time.
The KBO video review center, operated with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, utilizes seven cameras installed at various angles at KBO League stadiums. Along with this, it has a system capable of checking up to 16 videos simultaneously by receiving video footage recorded by the broadcasting company of the game.
Meanwhile, on the 17th at 6:30 p.m., the 'KBO Live' broadcast on the KBO official YouTube channel will introduce the ABS strike zone changes and pitch clock, along with detailed information about the KBO video review Hawk Eye replay system.
