The 'ROAD FC two-weight champion' Kim Tae-in (32, ROAD FC Kim Tae-in Gym) has been sidelined due to a knee injury.
Kim was scheduled to compete at the Gubne ROAD FC 072 event on the 16th at Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul. However, his participation has been canceled due to an unexpected knee injury.
Kim's injury occurred during training. His knee twisted severely enough to make a sound, and he proceeded directly to the hospital, where he received comments indicating, "The MRI results show signs of a medial collateral ligament tear. Pain and instability during exercise, decreased range of motion in the joint, and weakness were observed. Under the current circumstances, it is considered difficult to engage in intense exercise and weight-bearing activities. Treatment and rest for four weeks are expected to be necessary."
Having prepared intensively for the match, Kim has tried his best to participate. However, his knee was not in a condition to compete.
Deputy Minister Kim Dong-wook noted, "At around 4:07 p.m. on Thursday the 13th, Kim Tae-in contacted me about going to the hospital due to a knee injury. After an MRI scan at the hospital, he was diagnosed with a ligament tear. Kim said he wanted to participate in the match as much as possible and would only wait a day to observe his condition. Finally, at 2:36 p.m. on Friday the 14th, he communicated his decision to withdraw from the match."
Earlier, the 'youngest champion in ROAD FC' Park Si-won (23, Dia MMA) also cannot compete due to injury.
Park Si-won was scheduled to compete at Gubne ROAD FC 072 on the 16th at Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul. It was an important match that was to serve as a qualifying round for the lightweight tournament finals, with his opponent being Nandin-Erdene (38, Jeonuk Gym Multi-Gym). However, just before this crucial match, Park Si-won injured his back.
The medical certificate submitted by Park Si-won states, "It is strongly recommended to limit physical activities for approximately two weeks, particularly any activities that put strain on the lumbar region, and to rest. Continuous treatment is required for symptom management, and long-term prognosis can be assessed later."
Meanwhile, the match between Yun Tae-young and Burenjorik Batmunkh, which was originally scheduled for the first part with six matches, has been changed to the first match of the second part.
