Shohei Ohtani (Los Angeles Dodgers) was assigned the leadoff role.

The Dodgers announced their starting lineup for the exhibition game against the Yomiuri Giants, scheduled for 7 p.m. on the 15th at Tokyo Dome in Japan.

Ohtani, who made his big league debut with the Los Angeles Angels in 2018, transferred to the Dodgers last year. As a batter, he has played in a total of 875 games, recording a batting average of .282 (3,119 at-bats, 878 hits), 225 home runs, 567 RBIs, 562 runs scored, and 145 stolen bases.

Last year, he recorded a batting average of .310 (636 at-bats, 197 hits), 54 home runs, 130 RBIs, 134 runs scored, and 59 stolen bases, becoming the first player in Major League Baseball history to reach the 50-home run and 50-stolen base milestones and winning the National League MVP award. In spring training, he had 18 at-bats with 6 hits, a batting average of .333, 1 home run, 2 RBIs, and 4 runs scored.

The Dodgers' batting order includes designated hitter Shohei Ohtani, second baseman Tommy Edman, first baseman Freddie Freeman, right fielder Teoscar Hernández, third baseman Max Muncy, catcher Will Smith, left fielder Michael Conforto, shortstop Miguel Rojas, and center fielder Andy Pages.

Left-handed pitcher Justin Lobresky will take the mound as the starter. Mookie Betts does not appear in the starting lineup.

In response, the Yomiuri Giants constructed their starting lineup with center fielder Yoshihiro Maru, left fielder Elier Hernández, second baseman Daiki Yoshikawa, first baseman Kazuma Okamoto, right fielder Trayce Thompson, designated hitter Takumi Oshiro, third baseman Hayato Sakamoto, and catcher Takuya Kai.

The starting pitcher will be Shōsei Togo.
