Kim Hye-seong (Los Angeles Dodgers infielder) has received notification of demotion to Triple-A following below-expectation performance in the spring training, while the Dodgers have been suggested to be considering acquiring the surprising Nolan Arenado (St. Louis Cardinals infielder).

Kim Hye-seong, who signed a guaranteed contract of $12.5 million for 3+2 years with the Dodgers in January to challenge on the American stage, showed a disappointing performance in the spring training. In 15 games, he had 29 at-bats, 6 hits, a batting average of .270, 1 home run, 3 RBIs, and 6 runs scored. Kim Hye-seong will begin the season at Triple-A Oklahoma City Dodgers instead of participating in the Tokyo Series.

U.S. media outlet Newsweek reported on the 15th (Korean time) that "With Kim Hye-seong demoted to Triple-A, the Dodgers need to implement Plan B. They will get the opportunity to acquire superstar Nolan Arenado."

Arenado, who started his big league career with the Colorado Rockies in 2013, has played in a total of 1,680 games, achieving a batting average of .285 (6,406 at-bats, 1,826 hits), 341 home runs, 1,132 RBIs, and 944 runs scored.

Arenado is well-known among domestic fans as a nemesis of Ryu Hyun-jin (Hanwha Eagles pitcher), who played in Major League Baseball until 2023.

The media outlet noted that "According to FanSided's Jack Pressnell, there is clearly a possibility that Arenado could return to the National League West. If the Dodgers acquire Arenado, they would gain an outstanding Gold Glove player in both offense and defense."

The outlet also added, "St. Louis is likely to utilize Arenado as a trade asset. This allows them to acquire an All-Star player at a relatively low expense while Kim Hye-seong develops in the minor leagues."

Newsweek reported that "Arenado moving to the Dodgers is the most ideal scenario. Manager Dave Roberts is hoping for the first World Series repeat since the New York Yankees in 1999 and 2000."

The outlet emphasized, "The Dodgers can use Bobby Miller (pitcher) as a trade asset to acquire Arenado. Currently, Miller's position has narrowed. Rumors are circulating that St. Louis will bring in a pitcher before the trade deadline, which must be fulfilled before the season opens."
