The professional baseball LG Twins defeated the Samsung Lions with a comeback victory after hitting 12 hits. LG won 10-5 against Samsung in the 2025 KBO League exhibition game held at Daegu Samsung Lions Park on the 13th. LG's record improved to 2 wins and 3 losses, while Samsung also dropped to 2 wins and 3 losses.

Starting pitcher Song Seung-ki, who was appointed as the fifth starter, took the mound and recorded 3 innings, 5 hits allowed, 3 walks, 2 strikeouts, and 3 earned runs (2 unearned). The offense rallied in the middle of the game.

Song Seung-ki allowed consecutive walks to Kang Min-ho and Ryu Ji-hyeok in the second inning. A passed ball by catcher Park Dong-won during Shin Jae-hoon's at-bat advanced the runners to second and third base. Song struck out Shin Jae-hoon and recorded the second out with a ground ball by Yang Do-geun to shortstop, allowing a run from third base. This was an unearned run. Song faced a bases-loaded crisis in the third inning after giving up consecutive hits to Kim Hun-gon, Koo Ja-wook, and Diaz. He induced a ground ball from Park Byung-ho to the third baseman, turning it into a double play that eliminated the runner at home and left the situation at two outs with runners on second and third. However, with a 1 ball-2 strikes count against Kang Min-ho, a changeup was thrown high outside, and Kang Min-ho hit a two-run single to right field.

Manager Yeom Kyung-yeob said after the game, "Song Seung-ki has good pitch value, but he had a difficult game today with a high ratio of balls. Pitching coach Kim Gwang-sam will ask for more aggressive pitching, and it would be great if he raises his expectations with that aggressive pitching starting from the next game."

LG targeted Samsung's starting pitcher Choi Won-tae in the fourth inning after falling behind 0-3. After one out, Moon Bo-kyung and Kim Hyun-soo reached base with consecutive walks, and during Oh Ji-hwan's at-bat, they successfully executed a double steal. Although Oh Ji-hwan struck out, Park Dong-won walked to create a bases-loaded situation with two outs. Song Chan-ui hit a two-run single to left field to close the gap, and Moon Jeong-bin tied the game at 3-3 with a single up the middle.

In the seventh inning against Oh Seung-hwan, LG's Shin Min-jae reached base after being hit by a pitch with one out, and Austin hit a single to left field, creating a one-out, first and second base opportunity. Moon Bo-kyung then hit a two-run double that bounced off the right fence, putting LG in the lead. With two outs and a runner on third, Koo Bon-hyeok hit a single up the middle to expand the lead to 6-3.

In the bottom of the seventh, LG's Kim Jin-sung allowed a two-run homer to Samsung rookie Shin Jae-hoon, but in the eighth, they extended their lead again. After one out, Song Chan-ui was hit by a pitch, and Moon Jeong-bin created a one-out, first and second base situation with a single up the middle. Ahn Ik-hoon hit a three-run triple to right center, increasing the score to 8-5. With two outs and a runner on first, Austin hit a two-run double that hit the left wall, extending the lead to 9-5. In the top of the ninth, with one out, LG created a scoring opportunity with Koo Bon-hyeok's walk and Lee Joo-heon's double down the left field line, and added another run on a ground ball by Choi Won-young that resulted in a fielder's choice.

Austin shone with 3 hits, including 2 doubles, in 5 at-bats with 1 RBI, while Moon Bo-kyung delivered the game-winning hit with 2 RBIs. From the lower batting order, Song Chan-ui recorded 1 hit and 1 walk in 2 at-bats, along with 2 RBIs, and Moon Jeong-bin recorded 2 hits and 1 RBI in 4 at-bats.

Manager Yeom noted, "The performances of backups like Song Chan-ui, Moon Jeong-bin, and Koo Bon-hyeok are important, and it's encouraging to see them showing how they can fill the team's gaps well as the regular season approaches. Kim Dae-hyeon, Woo Gang-hoon, and Kim Yeong-woo, who need to grow in the bullpen, are gradually gaining confidence through successful experiences in the exhibition games, which gives us optimism going into the season."

Additionally, Manager Yeom stated, "It's important to raise the batting pace of the starters, and it's gradually improving. It will be very important to raise the pace in the remaining 5 games. I would like to thank the fans who came to support us even on weekdays away games."
