The Sports Ethics Center (Chairperson Park Ji-young), under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, will carry out its first field activities for human rights protectors in 2025.

The Sports Ethics Center will operate a field inspection and traveling counseling room for human rights protectors at the venue of the second national judo team selection competition held at the Boryung Comprehensive Gymnasium in South Chungcheong Province over two days, from 10th to 11th.

The human rights protectors of the Sports Ethics Center, composed of experts in sports and human rights, will directly visit the judo national team selection site to conduct various preventive activities, including safety and facility management at the competition venue, investigation of human rights violations, and checks on remedial actions.

In addition, they will actively respond to potential human rights violation issues that may arise at the competition venue and will operate the traveling counseling room linked with Sports Ethics Center counselors to ensure anyone can report incidents.

The human rights protectors, who were appointed from 10 last year to 15 this year, starting with the judo national team selection competition, plan to visit various other national team selection competitions and national events to address blind spots concerning human rights violations in the sports community.

The Sports Ethics Center (Chairperson Park Ji-young) noted, "To eradicate human rights violations in the sports community and create a safe sports environment, we will listen closely to the various difficulties faced by athletes and continue to expand human rights promotion activities."
