Tottenham Hotspur should now give up on "the worst signing" Richarlison (28). In a shocking claim, it has even been suggested that they should sell him for just £5 million (approximately 9.4 billion won).

Tottenham News, which covers Tottenham updates, exclusively reported on the 10th (Korea time) that "Tottenham may accept a £5 million offer for Richarlison. His agent is already working on it."

The outlet reported, "Daniel Levy, the chairman of Tottenham, will soon incur losses reaching £55 million (approximately 103.2 billion won) due to Richarlison. Tottenham paid £60 million (approximately 112.5 billion won) to acquire him from Everton in the summer of 2022."

Richarlison was once a key player at Everton. He caught attention by scoring 10 goals and providing 5 assists in the 2021-2022 season, helping Everton avoid relegation, and he joined Tottenham with high expectations. It was thought he could be a significant asset to Tottenham's attack, moving between the left and center positions.

But reality was different. Richarlison managed only one league goal in his debut season at Tottenham and frequently missed games due to injuries. Last season, he seemed to be reviving with 11 league goals, but injuries have kept him from playing regularly. He has now completely become injury-prone.

It seems Tottenham has also decided to give up on Richarlison. Tottenham News reported, "Richarlison has not lived up to his price tag due to various injury issues. Even when he did play, his scoring record was not well-regarded. As a result, Richarlison seems to be nearing the end of his time at Tottenham."

The question now is how much of the transfer fee that Tottenham invested three years ago they can recover. Selling him to a Saudi Arabian club might yield a surprisingly high transfer fee, but Richarlison is reportedly refusing a move to Saudi Arabia. Realistically, there seems to be no other European club willing to pay a large fee to acquire Richarlison.

Then Brian King, a former Tottenham scout, made a shocking claim. He stated that Richarlison's value has dropped to just £5 million to £10 million (approximately 18.8 billion won).

King said, "I would be very happy to see Richarlison leave and a new player brought in. Whatever the amount, selling Richarlison would be welcomed. Tottenham brought him in for a lot of money, and they will end up suffering losses because of that."

He further noted, "I can't imagine Tottenham receiving more than £5 million or £10 million. Who would pay a large sum to acquire him? Tottenham needed to reduce losses earlier. In my view, it was a poor transfer policy."

Finally, King added, "None of the clubs rumored to be interested in Richarlison last summer pursued a transfer, nor did they take him. Therefore, I believe all those rumors were created by Richarlison's agent."

Richarlison has not been able to shake off the label of "the worst flop" this season either. He has been sidelined several times due to injuries, managing just 2 goals and 1 assist in 9 league matches. With only 10 league matches left, he has completed only 278 minutes on the pitch.

Richarlison's contract runs until June 2027. This means there are two years left after this season. Given that the transfer fee will significantly decrease with just one year remaining, this upcoming summer may be the right time for a farewell.

Tottenham News also stated, "Tottenham must accept the losses from Richarlison and move on to the next step. They have become accustomed to suffering losses from expensive players in recent years. Tanguy Ndombele, who had a massive contract, was released, and Giovani Lo Celso was sold for almost nothing."

There have even been suggestions that continuing to pay Richarlison's salary is a greater loss. The outlet said, "Therefore, losing another expensive contract without achieving much would be painful, but delaying Richarlison's salary payment for another year will result in even greater financial losses. He clearly has no future at the club, and the chances of a contract renewal are slim. It’s time to move forward."
