Gangwon achieved its second victory of the season with a win over Jeonbuk in an away match.

On the 9th, Gangwon FC won 1-0 against Jeonbuk Hyundai in the Hana Bank K League 1 2025 Round 4 held at Jeonju World Cup Stadium.

With this victory, Gangwon climbed to 6 points from 2 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss.

Jeonbuk faced Gangwon in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Park Jae-yong played as the lone striker with Song Min-gyu and Jeon Byung-kwan positioned on the flanks. Lee Seung-woo started as a central midfielder while Hong Kyoung and Boateng served as double defensive midfielders. The back four consisted of Choi Woo-jin, Park Jin-seob, Yeon Je-woon, and Kim Tae-hwan, with Song Bum-keun as the goalkeeper.

Gangwon lined up in a 4-4-2 formation against Jeonbuk. Lee Sang-heon and Kovacevic formed the two-striker front line, while Kang Jun-hyuk and Lee Ji-ho occupied the flanks. Kim Dong-hyun and Lee Yoo-hyun were positioned in the midfield, and the back four consisted of Lee Gi-hyeok, Kang Tu-ji, Shin Min-ha, and Yoon Il-rok. The goalkeeper was Lee Kwang-yeon.

In a battle for control early in the match, Jeonbuk, seeking victory, aggressively pushed forward for an early goal.

In the 14th minute of the first half, Jeonbuk created a threatening moment through a short pass consolidation from the front of Gangwon's arc. Gangwon worked hard to maintain stable defense and prevent conceding a goal.

At the start of the second half, Jeonbuk replaced Song Min-gyu with Jeon Jin-woo. Gangwon brought Gabriel onto the field in place of Kovacevic. In the 18th minute of the second half, Gangwon made a substitution, bringing on Kim Kyung-min and Choi Byeong-chan for Lee Ji-ho and Yoon Il-rok. Gangwon immediately aimed for a goal through side attacks.

In the 21st minute of the second half, Jeonbuk's Jeon Byung-kwan attempted a sharp shot after receiving a pass from Boateng, but it bounced off the goalpost. Then, in the 23rd minute, Jeonbuk substituted Lee Seung-woo and Boateng for Kim Jin-kyu and Lee Young-jae.

In the 30th minute of the second half, Jeonbuk's Lee Young-jae attempted a surprise left-footed shot from the front of the arc, but it was blocked by the opposing goalkeeper. Additionally, Jeonbuk's Kim Jin-kyu followed up with a sharp shot, showing a strong desire to score.

Gangwon did not miss the counterattack opportunity and scored a goal. In stoppage time of the second half, in a chaotic scene in front of the goal, Gabriel fell in Jeonbuk's territory, and Kim Kyung-min calmly scored, putting Gangwon ahead 1-0.

In stoppage time of the second half, Jeonbuk sent on Ahn Hyun-bum and Kang Sang-yoon, fighting fiercely until the end. However, the match concluded with Gangwon's victory.
