Will professional baseball player Lee Ho-sung (21), a pitcher for the Samsung Lions, be able to showcase his skills this year?

After graduating from Incheon High School, Lee Ho-sung was selected in the first round by Samsung in 2023. Last year, he appeared in 16 games, recording a record of 2 wins and 4 losses with an earned run average of 7.40. On May 19, he started against the Hanwha team in Daegu, giving up 10 runs over 2⅓ innings, marking a personal high for runs conceded in a single game.

He is now preparing for the 2025 season in Gyeyang Ballpark after returning from the United States and Japan. In the U.S., he sought advice from Max Scherzer, one of Major League Baseball's top-tier pitchers. Scherzer told Lee Ho-sung, "Maintaining a consistent pitching balance is the most important thing."

Before the first camp in Guam, Lee Ho-sung suffered a side injury and trained at the Cressey Sports Performance facility in West Palm Beach, Florida, alongside Choi Won-tae and left-handed pitcher Lee Seung-hyun.

Lee Ho-sung, who prepared his body at the Futures team camp set up at Ishikawa Stadium in Okinawa, Japan, is getting ready for the upcoming new season at Gyeyang Ballpark. Even in snowy weather, he is focusing on his pitching condition.

He has changed his jersey number, switching from 55 to 1. Lee Ho-sung explained, "As I was contemplating changing my number, I noticed that number 1 was available. I was unsure if I could wear it, but the team encouraged me to wear it since it is the jersey number symbolizing pitchers."

Now wearing his new number as he approaches the 2025 season, Lee Ho-sung said, "I have to do well this year, and I have a feeling that something good is going to happen. Since I have a good jersey number, I will show a good performance."
