"Should we really sell Son Heung-min?"

From 2004 to 2008, Paul Robinson, who served as a goalkeeper for Tottenham, supported Son Heung-min.

Robinson, who grants appeared on Betfred TV, strongly condemned Tottenham.

Robinson stated, "I'm aware that there is a lot of criticism and concern about Son Heung-min, who has somewhat declined this season. There are even rumors that he will leave Tottenham after this season."

He continued, "The difficulties that Son Heung-min is currently experiencing cannot be viewed separately from Tottenham. Isn't it like playing in a frankly terrible team?" He expressed understanding of Son's struggles in the situation where the entire team's performance has declined.

Robinson played for the England national team alongside Tottenham.

Tottenham Hotspur News reported on the 4th, "Son Heung-min is already showing signs of declining performance. Tottenham must decide whether it is worth giving a new contract to an aging player."

Recently, there have been various discussions regarding Son Heung-min's future.

GiveMeSports reported, "Tottenham is going through a difficult time. Under chairman Daniel Levy, they have not achieved significant results. A complete overhaul may be necessary to move in the right direction."

Football FanCast reported on the 3rd, "Time is running out. Manager Ange Postecoglou may end Son Heung-min's career at Tottenham."

They continued, "The past few years have been extremely challenging for Tottenham. Various styles of managers were brought in before Postecoglou's appointment. Additionally, the team has undergone significant changes with many players departing. The most notable player was Harry Kane, who defined an era," adding, "As this season shows, Tottenham's project is not over. There may come a time when another icon, following Kane, will leave the team."

Tottenham Hotspur News exclusively reported on the 3rd, "A timetable for Son Heung-min's re-signing has emerged. Tottenham wants to keep him, but negotiations have not yet progressed."

They continued, "After the 0-1 loss to Manchester City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday, Son caused much confusion with his behavior. He is not having his best season," noting, "While the recent contract has been extended until June 2026, Son Heung-min could still leave Tottenham this summer and possibly reunite with Harry Kane."

Additionally, Tottenham Hotspur News stated, "Tottenham seems to have different thoughts. Tottenham will begin contract negotiations with Son Heung-min in December 2025. According to The Times, Tottenham wants Son to retire in North London."

Recently, there have been voices suggesting Son's aging curve and diminishing standing as a leader.

The Times explained, "Tottenham wants Son Heung-min to retire at the club. However, they are struggling to persuade him to extend a contract that only has one year remaining come July," indicating that there has been no progress in re-signing negotiations.

ESPN reported, "Son Heung-min and Mohamed Salah were born just three weeks apart in the summer of 1992. Both are legendary figures at their respective clubs. However, while one is enjoying the best season of his life and leading Liverpool to become overwhelming Premier League (PL) title favorites, the other is questioning his 'untouchable' status at Tottenham for the first time in his life."

There isn't much positive evaluation about Son Heung-min emerging. While he attracted attention with transfer rumors to Bayern Munich, it now seems highly likely that he will stay with the team.

Although expectations for his performance have diminished, Robinson's thoughts remain firm.

Robinson stated, "I see Son Heung-min's situation as similar to that of Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City). Time eventually causes everyone to be caught up by the next generation," adding, "Still, Tottenham activating the one-year extension option with Son Heung-min shows that they still see his financial value as high."

He also opposed Tottenham's movements to dispose of Son Heung-min.

Robinson expressed, "Son Heung-min still brings a lot of commercial revenue to the club. With so much he can offer to the team, is there really a need to sell him in the summer?"
