Gianni Infantino, president of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), and Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, president of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), sent congratulatory letters to Jeong Mong-kyu, who was elected as the 55th president of the Korea Football Association.
Infantino, the FIFA president, conveyed in a letter on the 28th (Korea time) to President Jeong, "I sincerely congratulate you on your election as president of the Korea Football Association."
President Salman also sent a congratulatory letter stating, "I am very pleased with the news of your election as president of the Korea Football Association, and I promise my full support and that of the AFC."
Infantino expressed gratitude to President Jeong by saying, "I deeply appreciate your efforts and significant contributions to the development of football." He added, "I wish you success in your new term and hope to collaborate for the growth and prosperity of Korean football."
Previously, Infantino left a congratulatory message for President Jeong's re-election on his Instagram story the day before.
President Jeong Mong-kyu was elected on the 26th, receiving 156 out of a total of 182 valid votes in the election for the 55th president of the Korea Football Association, held with three candidates at the football hall.
