SK Telecom (CEO Ryu Young-sang) and the Choi Kyung-ju Foundation (Chairman Choi Kyung-ju) noted that on the 26th, they held the '2025 SKT-Choi Kyung-ju Foundation Dreamer Award Ceremony.'
The event was conducted with the attendance of Executive Director Piju-hwan of the Choi Kyung-ju Foundation and officials from the SK Telecom sports planning team. The ceremony concluded with remarks from Executive Director Piju-hwan and the presentation of impressions by 13 newly selected scholarship students for 2025 and 8 graduating scholarship students.
The SKT-Choi Kyung-ju Foundation's dream nurturing project selects 10 to 20 students annually from low-income families for scholarships, having supported a total of 326 students (cumulative scholarship dreamers) from 2014 to 2025.
Meanwhile, the beautiful partnership between SK Telecom and Choi Kyung-ju has expanded into various sports ESG programs over 16 years since signing a sports sponsorship agreement in 2010, garnering attention as a model case for ESG management.
Both parties are expanding the scope of cooperation by having professional golfer Choi Kyung-ju participate in the 'SK Telecom Charity Open,' now in its fourth year, and by the Choi Kyung-ju Foundation joining as a sponsor for the developmental disability golf tournament 'SK Telecom Adaptive Open.'
Additionally, SK Telecom has been the official sponsor of the New Jersey tournament organized by the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) since 2018, supporting the overseas advancement of golf dreamers.
The student selected as a SK Telecom scholarship dreamer this year, Woo Yeon, said, "I came to dream of becoming an education expert achieving equal educational opportunities while mentoring children in remote areas," adding, "I want to take this support from the foundation as a stepping stone to grow further and continue the positive cycle of sharing."
Chairman Choi Kyung-ju encouraged the scholarship students through a welcoming message delivered via video, saying, "I believe that the Choi Kyung-ju Foundation always supports dreamers striving to realize their dreams, and I hope that the dreamers will move forward vigorously."
Kim Hee-seop, head of the PR center at SK Telecom, said, "SK Telecom has been on a beautiful journey together with the Choi Kyung-ju Foundation for the past 10 years through scholarship support initiatives, and we will continue to lead ESG management through sports in the future."
