The professional baseball SSG Landers will begin its second spring camp in Okinawa, Japan.

SSG announced on the 22nd that it will depart on the 23rd and conduct the second spring camp in Okinawa until March 5. After completing the first Florida camp, SSG will move to Okinawa and plans to play a total of five practice games against the Samsung Lions, Hanwha Eagles, KT Wiz, and LG Twins during the camp period. This is to assess both real-game senses and overall strength in preparation for the exhibition games and the regular season's opening.

Veteran players Kim Seong-hyun, Oh Tae-gon, Lee Ji-young, Choi Jeong, and Han Yu-seom, who trained at the Kagoshima camp, will also join the Okinawa camp. They plan to intensify their preparations for the season with the first-team roster.

Veteran players, including Choi Jeong, unusually began their season preparations at the second team spring camp rather than the first team spring camp. They believe it is more advantageous for conditioning management to train at the nearby Kagoshima camp rather than making the long trip to Florida, USA, before joining the team.

SSG manager Lee Soong-yong noted, "Just like last year, I gave the veteran players the option. I believe our veteran players can perform well if we create an environment where they can avoid injuries. Therefore, I respect their choices. Last year, the travel time was too long, and they were really struggling. I made this decision so the veterans can perform in the best condition possible. Since everyone has been professional players for over ten years, I have no concerns."

Choi Jeong, who is set to join the first team camp, said, "It's been a long time since I played in a spring camp with second team players. It brings back a lot of old memories. I recall training with a desperate heart when I was younger. The players are really passionate. Their eagerness to learn even one more thing is wonderful. They have bright eyes, as if I were looking at hyenas. From the perspective of a senior, I appreciated that attitude in the juniors. It made me think that I should work harder too."

New players Lee Yul-ye (1st round) and Shin Ji-hwan (2nd round), who received positive evaluations in the first spring camp, have made the list for the second spring camp. They will engage in a fierce competition in Japan to secure a spot on the opening day roster.

Manager Lee Soong-yong stated, "There was a lot of training in the first spring camp. Therefore, in the second camp, we plan to adjust our condition while focusing on five practice games. The goal is to enhance our real-game sense through these games. We also need to check the physical condition and fitness of the veteran players. The most important thing is to complete the second camp without injuries. I will pay special attention to that."

Meanwhile, a total of 50 participants will be in the Okinawa second camp, including manager Lee Soong-yong, 16 coaching staff, 17 pitchers, 3 catchers, 7 infielders, and 7 outfielders.
