That's impossible.

Go Woo-seok, a former KBO League saves leader participating in the Miami Marlins spring camp, suffered an unexpected fracture of his right index finger, putting his big league aspirations in jeopardy.

His position on the team has already been significantly diminished, and he is expected to miss more than a month due to this injury.

The Miami Marlins stated on the official team website on the 21st (Korea time) that 'Go Woo-seok felt discomfort in his finger during weight training, and the pain intensified when gripping a specific ball during live pitching.' He is scheduled for a re-examination in two weeks.

After graduating from Chungam High School, Go Woo-seok was drafted by LG in 2017 and has appeared in a total of 354 first-team games until 2023, achieving 19 wins, 26 losses, 139 saves, and an earned run average of 3.18.

In particular, he achieved 42 saves in 2022, ranking first in this institutional sector, and contributed to LG's overall championship with a record of 3 wins, 8 losses, 15 saves, and an earned run average of 3.68 in 2023.

Signing a contract with San Diego for an aggregate of $4.5 million, Go Woo-seok made six appearances in last year's exhibition games, ending with 2 losses, 1 hold, and an earned run average of 12.60.

Participating in the MLB World Tour Seoul Series, he struggled in a friendly match against LG, allowing 2 hits (including 1 home run) and 2 earned runs in 1 inning, which ultimately led to him being excluded from the opening roster.

After being transferred to Miami in May, he was removed from the 40-man roster due to a waiver and was assigned to the minor leagues. He never stepped on the big league mound, only playing in Triple-A and Double-A.

In Triple-A, he appeared in 16 games, achieving 2 wins, no losses, and an earned run average of 4.29, while his Double-A performance showed a rather poor record of 2 wins, 3 losses, and an earned run average of 8.04.

After finishing his first season in the United States, Go Woo-seok quietly prepared himself for the season at spring camp as a non-roster invitee but faced disappointment due to an unexpected injury.

As Go Woo-seok's chances of entering the big leagues gradually diminish, more voices are suggesting that it may be better for him to return to the domestic stage.
