On the 21st, the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) announced that it will send umpires and record officials to Okinawa and Miyazaki in Japan, as well as Kaohsiung in Taiwan, where clubs are holding their second spring training sessions.
The dispatch of umpires and record officials to clubs' training camps is designed to ensure that each club's coaching staff, players, and front office can accurately understand and familiarize themselves with the new and revised regulations before the start of the season.
As the first step, on the 20th, the umpire crew visited the Doosan Bears camp training in Miyazaki to explain and demonstrate how rules such as pitch clock and 3-foot line at first base are applied, and had time to respond to questions from the players.
In the future, umpires and record officials will sequentially visit clubs' training camps to continue communication.
Additionally, they will participate in practice games held locally to ensure consistency in pitch clock measurement training according to situations and to practice communication between umpires and record officials during games, thereby enhancing their practical skills through continuous training.
