[2025 Harbin Winter Asian Games]

Lee Seung-hoon (Korean National Sports University) won the gold medal in freestyle skiing (freestyle) as the first Korean athlete at the 2025 Harbin Winter Asian Games.

On the 8th, Lee Seung-hoon won by scoring 97.5 points in the men's halfpipe final held at the Yabuli Ski Resort in China during the 2025 Harbin Winter Asian Games.

Freestyle skiing halfpipe is a sport where athletes perform rotations and jumps while skiing. It is divided into mogul skiing, ski cross, aerials, and halfpipe based on competition methods and scoring systems.

The only medal Korea has earned in freestyle skiing was the silver medal won by Choi Jae-woo in men's mogul at the 2017 Sapporo Asian Games.

On this day, Korea received three medals in the halfpipe, including its first gold medal. Moon Hee-sung (Seorak High School) obtained a bronze medal with a score of 88.5, following Lee Seung-hoon and Sheng Haifeng (China, 90.50 points).

Jang Yu-jin (Korea University), who participated in the women's division, also won a bronze medal. This is the first time a Korean female athlete has medaled in freestyle skiing at the Winter Asian Games.
