The South Korean short track team competing in the 2025 Harbin Winter Asian Games easily progressed through the quarterfinals.

According to the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee on the 7th, in the women's short track 1500m quarterfinals held in the multi-purpose hall of the Heilongjiang Ice Training Center in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China, Choi Min-jeong, Kim Gil-ri, and Shim Seok-hee all advanced to the semifinals.

Choi Min-jeong recorded a time of 2 minutes 31.80 seconds, finishing ahead of Hong Kong's Lam Ching-yen (2 minutes 34.11 seconds) by 2.31 seconds. Kim Gil-ri (21, Seongnam City Hall) also took first place in her quarterfinal heat 2, recording a time of 2 minutes 43 seconds.

The men's team members also smoothly completed their first matches. Park Ji-won took first place in the men's 1500m preliminary heat 1 with a time of 2 minutes 21.118 seconds. Jang Sung-woo finished first in heat 3, while Kim Geon-woo took first in heat 4.

Meanwhile, Lin Shao-jun (Korean name Lim Hyo-jun), who excelled as a star of the South Korean team before naturalizing in China, passed through in second place in heat 5.
