The curling mixed doubles team of Kim Kyung-ae and Seong Ji-hoon advanced to the final by defeating China in the semifinals.

According to the Korea Sports Council and others on the 7th, the Kim Kyung-ae and Seong Ji-hoon team defeated the Chinese team of Han Hui and Wang Zhiyu by a score of 8-4 in the semifinals of the 2025 Harbin Winter Asian Games curling mixed doubles, held at the Pingfang Curling Arena in Harbin, China, that afternoon.

South Korea, which suffered a 4-6 loss to host country China in the preliminaries B Group match on the previous morning, made a complete comeback that day. By scoring in four of the eight total ends through steals, they completely dominated the Chinese team.

The curling mixed doubles team of Kim Kyung-ae and Seong Ji-hoon, who were the first representatives of the Korean national team at the Harbin Winter Asian Games, experienced ups and downs before reaching the final. They started off with a crushing defeat of 6-12 against the Philippine team on the 4th, leaving them in third place in their group with two wins and two losses.

In this tournament, the curling mixed doubles were divided into two groups of five teams each, competing in a round-robin format. The top team from each group directly advanced to the semifinals, while the second and third place teams in each group faced off again in a playoff known as the 'semifinal qualifying match.'

Having defeated China, the Kim Kyung-ae and Seong Ji-hoon team will now face Japan's Koana Dori and Aoki Go for the gold medal. This sets up a Korea-Japan showdown in mixed doubles curling, with the final taking place tomorrow (8th) at 10 a.m. at the Pingfang Curling Arena.
