The South Korean curling mixed doubles team, the first to compete in the Harbin Winter Asian Games, claimed their first victory in the tournament.

According to the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee on the 4th, the curling mixed doubles team of Kim Kyung-ae and Seong Ji-hoon achieved a decisive victory over Qatar by 13 points in the second round of the Group B preliminary round held at the Pingfang Curling Arena in Harbin, China.

The Korean team took the lead, scoring the first point from the first end. They quickly widened the score gap, adding 2 points in the second end and 3 points in the third. The final score was 14 to 1.

The combination of Kim Kyung-ae and Seong Ji-hoon thoroughly shut down the attacks of Qatar's Mabaraka Al-Abdullah and Nasser Abdulrahman Al-Yafei. This was in contrast to their shaky start, having suffered a complete defeat to the Philippines in the morning.

The curling mixed doubles competition involves a total of 12 teams divided into two groups competing in a round-robin format. The first place in each group advances directly to the semifinals, while the second and third places face the other group's second and third in the quarterfinals.

With a record of 1 win and 1 loss, the Korean team is set to compete against Kazakhstan in the third round of the preliminary round tomorrow (5th). They are also expected to face China and Kyrgyzstan the day after tomorrow (6th).
