Yoon & Yang LLC (managing partner attorney Lee Myung-soo) said on the 11th that it held the 15th "legal practice course for in-house counsel" over two days on the 9th and 10th. About 130 legal affairs personnel from more than 70 corporations attended this year's course.
This course, which Yoon & Yang LLC has conducted since 2011, is a training program that covers key legal issues and response measures that in-house counsel encounter in corporate legal practice.
This year's program consisted of 11 sessions. On the first day, it covered mergers and acquisitions (M&A), personal data protection, practical regulation of listed companies, taxes, and corporate litigation. On the second day, lectures were given on fair trade and the amended Commercial Act, contract drafting, labor law, the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, and English contract drafting and review.
The lectures were led by Yoon & Yang LLC attorneys Kim Sang-man, Lee Gwang-uk, Choi Jong-yeol, Choi Jin-hyuk, Hwang Jae-ho, Ahn Chang-mo, Ahn Sang-hyun, Kim Ji-uk, Hong Sung, and Lee Sung-sik, and foreign attorney Choi Hyeong-jun.
Partner attorney Lee Gwang-uk of Yoon & Yang LLC said, "As the legal environment surrounding corporations changes rapidly, what is becoming important for in-house counsel is not only legal knowledge but also the practical ability to apply it in the field and solve problems."
Attorney Si Jin-guk, who oversaw the course and heads management at Yoon & Yang LLC, said, "Although the spread of artificial intelligence (AI) and legal tech is rapidly changing how the legal market works, what remains important for in-house counsel is fundamentals and practical sense," adding, "We focused on delivering core issues and response strategies that can be used on the job."
