Former People Power Party Spokesperson Son Beom-kyu has been sent to trial on charges of sexually assaulting a district council member from the same party.
According to legal sources, on the 11th the Incheon District Prosecutors Office recently indicted Son, the former Spokesperson, without detention on charges of forcible molestation.
Son, the former Spokesperson, is accused of forcibly molesting a female district council member, identified as A, from the same party at a bar in Namdong District, Incheon, in Feb. 2023.
Earlier, after A filed a complaint and police opened an investigation, officers concluded that the allegations against Son, the former Spokesperson, were supported by A's account and statements from others present.
During police questioning, Son, the former Spokesperson, was quoted as saying, "That never happened" and "I don't remember," denying the charges.
