The Ministry of Personnel Management has recommended that applicants for national civil service interviews wear casual clothes instead of suits.
According to the national civil service recruitment system on the 11th, the Ministry of Personnel Management said in a "guidance on interview attire" posted the day before that "for interview attire, we recommend simple clothing (neat everyday wear) that does not hinder you from demonstrating your abilities."
It added, "We discourage suits for both men and women and prohibit wearing neckties and dress shoes," and "if you wear a necktie or dress shoes, we will have you remove the tie and put shoe covers over the dress shoes."
The Ministry of Personnel Management also released sample outfit images generated by artificial intelligence (AI). The examples showed relatively comfortable attire, such as jeans or skirts with sneakers.
Regarding the notice, the Ministry of Personnel Management explained, "We recommend (attire) that is simple and does not hinder you from demonstrating your abilities," adding, "However, most applicants are attending interviews in suits, making the interview atmosphere unnatural and, due to noises such as shoe footsteps, hindering test operations."
