In step with the sweeping artificial intelligence transition (AX) across society, Seoul National University is recruiting the 6th class for the Big Data AI CEO program and the 14th class for the Big Data Fintech AI Advanced Expert program. The two programs are run as part of the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL) K-Digital Training (KDT) initiative.
According to the SNU KDT program office on the 11th, applications for the Big Data AI CEO (ABC) program will be accepted through the 13th. The ABC program selects 30 key decision-makers, including CEOs and executives of corporations, and provides training that integrates AI and data technologies into business strategy and operations.
In addition to building networks with CEOs and executives of major corporations, it offers opportunities to explore ways to link AI to core businesses. The program goes beyond simple instruction by having participants use Generative AI to do vibe coding themselves to develop programs or apps, which they present at the commencement ceremony.
Classes will be held in person at the Seoul National University Gwanak campus every Wednesday and Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., from Sept. 30 through Apr. 17 next year.
The Big Data Fintech AI Advanced Expert (ABS) program, aimed at students and job seekers, is also accepting applications through the 20th.
Participants in the ABS program receive classroom instruction for about four months and conduct capstone practicums at corporations for three months to carry out real projects. The training period runs from Oct. 13 through May 21 next year. The capstone component, in which teams jointly solve challenges faced by the corporations, often leads to employment at those corporations. Some also launch startups based on the skills learned in the program.
Because both the ABC and ABS programs are part of the MOEL KDT initiative, tuition support means participants bear little training cost. For the ABS program, 90% of training expenses are covered through the National Tomorrow Learning Card. If certain requirements are met, training incentives are paid for each unit period. An official from the program office said, "It is an opportunity to learn ways to use AI to raise management efficiency and maximize profitability," adding, "SNU faculty and personnel with master's and doctoral degrees will provide close support for participants' learning and growth."
