A survey found that Oh Se-hoon, the Seoul mayor, ranked No. 1 among the 16 metropolitan and provincial heads nationwide in the party index relative score.
Oh Se-hoon ranked first among metropolitan and provincial heads with a score of 120.8 in the August party index relative score for metropolitan leaders released on Sept. 10 by the polling agency Realmeter.
The party index relative score compares a metropolitan leader's job performance rating with the approval rating of the leader's party in the region. A score above 100 means the individual leader's job performance rating is higher than the party's regional approval rating.
Following Oh, Park Wan-su, the South Gyeongsang governor, scored 120.7, and Kim Sang-wook, the Ulsan mayor, scored 120.3, ranking second and third, respectively.
The top spot for job performance satisfaction went to Lee Cheol-woo, the North Gyeongsang governor. At 55.8%, Lee ranked No. 1 for the second consecutive month. He was followed by Park Wan-su, the South Gyeongsang governor (50.7%), and Kim Sang-wook, the Ulsan mayor (48.8%).
The survey was conducted July 28–31 and Aug. 28–31 among 14,400 voters aged 18 and older nationwide using automated response telephone interviews via random digit dialing (RDD) on landlines and mobile phones. The margin of error is ±0.8 percentage points at a 95% confidence level overall, and ±3.3 percentage points by metropolitan city and province.
