Law firm YK (managing attorney Kang Kyung-hoon) said on the 8th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Dongguk University Graduate School to foster specialized and convergent talent in the field of law and to strengthen industry-academia cooperation.
The two institutions held a signing ceremony on the 7th at Lotus Hall in the Dongguk University main building. Managing attorney Kang Kyung-hoon of YK, Graduate School Dean Kim Seung-yong of Dongguk University, and other officials from both sides attended.
Under the agreement, YK and the Dongguk University Graduate School will promote education, research, and industry-academia cooperation to cultivate specialized and convergent talent related to law. They also agreed to cooperate on legal advice needed in the course of the graduate school's work, legal welfare for members, and the protection and utilization of intellectual property rights.
They will jointly use infrastructure such as facilities owned by both institutions and expand information exchange. They also plan to identify joint projects to respond to legal needs arising in research and industry-academia cooperation and to resolve key issues of the graduate school.
Specific cooperation tasks and implementation methods will be decided later through separate consultations.
Managing attorney Kang Kyung-hoon of YK said, "This agreement is meaningful as it connects the education and research capabilities accumulated by the Dongguk University Graduate School with YK's legal expertise to lead to tangible industry-academia cooperation outcomes," adding, "We will cooperate so that it can lead to resolving the graduate school's key issues and discovering new joint projects."
