EXO members Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin (hereafter ChenBaekXi) filed for an injunction to suspend the effect of their exclusive contracts against their agency INB100.
According to legal sources on the 7th, the Seoul Central District Court's Civil Agreement Division 50 (Presiding Judge Lee Sang-hoon, Director General judge) held a hearing that day on ChenBaekXi's request for an injunction to suspend the effect of their exclusive contracts against INB100.
INB100 is a company Baekhyun founded in June 2023, and in May the following year it was folded into the One Hundred label led by CEO Cha Ga-won.
Citing unpaid settlement money from March to April, ChenBaekXi notified Cha's side of the termination of their exclusive contracts, but after it was not accepted, they filed for an injunction with the court on the 18th of last month.
The hearing reportedly ended in less than 10 minutes because INB100's counsel did not appear.
Regarding this, ChenBaekXi's counsel told the court, "Since the injunction request, Cha Ga-won, the representative of the debtor (INB100), has been detained and we have been unable to reach out."
Along with the injunction request, ChenBaekXi also reportedly filed a main lawsuit seeking confirmation that the exclusive contracts are void.
If the court grants the injunction, the effect of the exclusive contracts will likely be suspended until the first-instance ruling in the main lawsuit.
Cha, the CEO, was indicted and detained in August on fraud charges totaling around 30 billion won and faces the first trial on the 13th of next month.
Cha, a former chairman of a real estate development company, co-founded the One Hundred label with MC MONG in 2023. After a conflict, MC MONG left the company in July last year, and Cha now leads the company.
Lee Seung-gi, The Boyz, Viviz, and broadcaster Kim Dae-ho, who were affiliated with the One Hundred label, have also notified termination of their exclusive contracts in succession, claiming unpaid settlement money, among other issues.
