A woman in her 30s, whom police had been tracking after her family reported her missing, was found dead in a container in Anseong, Gyeonggi. A man in his 40s who had been reported missing in another area was also found at the scene and was taken to a hospital.
According to Anseong Police Station in Gyeonggi on the 4th, at about 9 p.m. on the previous day, police found Ms. A, a woman in her 30s, and Mr. B, a man in his 40s, collapsed inside a container located in an empty lot in Bogae-myeon, Anseong.
At the time of discovery, Ms. A had already died. Mr. B was taken to a hospital intensive care unit for treatment and was said to be not in life-threatening condition.
Police believe the two met recently through an online community and then attempted an extreme act together, and they are investigating the exact circumstances.
Earlier, Ms. A's family filed a missing person report with police at about 2:19 p.m. on the 2nd after being unable to reach her since the night of the 31st of last month.
Police searched within a 1.5-kilometer radius based on the cell tower location of Ms. A's mobile phone. After deploying about 50 personnel as well as rescue dogs and drones, they found the two roughly a day after the report was filed.
A check found that Mr. B, who was found with her, had also been reported missing at about 11:17 a.m. on the 31st of last month in another area.
