Police said they plan to deploy personnel from the evening of the 4th, when the eve event of the 2026 Seoul World Fireworks Festival is held, to roads and subway stations around the venue and major entrances and exits of the Hangang Park.
On the 5th, when the 2026 Seoul World Fireworks Festival takes place, the Yeouido and Ichon sections of Hangang Park will be divided into zones for management. Over two days, police will deploy 51 mobile units and 28 metropolitan preventive patrol teams, totaling 4,700 personnel, to manage crowds and respond to 112 reports.
Police also decided to deploy personnel not only near the venue but also at spots expected to become popular viewing locations, such as the north-end ramp of Mapo Bridge, Ichon Turtle Ship Pier, and Yongyangbongjeojeong Park.
On the day of the event, Yeouinaru Station on Seoul Subway Line 5, where the largest crowds are expected, will skip stops and pass through from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Depending on station congestion, the nonstop period may be moved earlier or extended.
To prevent homebound crowds from concentrating at specific subway stations after the event, police will guide people to disperse toward the National Assembly, Yeouido, Saetgang, Daebang, and Singil stations.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency said, "As heavy crowds and traffic congestion are expected around the venue, please use public transportation if possible, and for a safe return home on the day, we ask you to actively cooperate with the control and guidance of on-site police and safety personnel."
