Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI)(047810) Industries (KAI) will select 50 12th-grade students from vocational high schools and establish a job-linked job training course. Those selected will be hired as full-time employees after completing two months (280 hours) of training and six months of work as interns, followed by a set evaluation. KAI will also select 60 10th-graders and 60 11th-graders from vocational high schools to offer opportunities to tour production sites and explore career paths.
According to the Ministry of Education on the 31st, the ministry and KAI will sign a "business agreement to promote employment of technical talent from vocational high schools" on Nov. 1 at the FKI Conference Center in Yeouido, Seoul.
The Ministry of Education and KAI will establish a job-linked job training course through the agreement. The Ministry of Education said, "We decided to work with KAI to hire talent who will lead Korea's future aerospace industry and to cultivate outstanding talent."
Minister Choi Kyo-jin of the Ministry of Education said, "This agreement was made because KAI highly values the potential of technical talent from vocational high schools," adding, "It is a very special business agreement in that it lays the foundation for excellent vocational high school students to grow into talent in the aerospace field." She continued, "I hope this agreement will serve as a model for other corporations," and added, "We will continue to work to cultivate the technical talent needed by strong corporations like KAI."
KAI CEO Kim Jong-chul said, "We are pleased to have the opportunity to identify outstanding technical talent from vocational high schools early and help them grow into core talent in the aerospace field."
