Police dispatched to a dating violence report found and arrested a woman in her 30s after discovering about 40 syringes believed to have been used for drug injection at her residence.
According to Suwon Yeongtong Police Station on the 31st, police booked a woman in her 30s, identified as A, on suspicion of violating the Narcotics Control Act.
At around 1 a.m. that day, police were dispatched to a residence in Maetan-dong, Yeongtong-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, after a dating violence report. While checking the scene, officers found about 40 disposable syringes inside the home that were believed to have been used for drug injection.
Police brought A in voluntarily to investigate possible drug use, and A reportedly said they had injected methamphetamine. A rapid test on A's urine and residue from the syringes found at the scene both came back positive for methamphetamine.
Police plan to send samples collected from A and the syringes to the National Forensic Service for a detailed analysis. They also plan to question A about how the methamphetamine was purchased and expand the investigation to include sellers and distributors.
