According to the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL) on the 27th, at about 4:06 p.m. that day, a formwork component toppled at the CAMUS E&C establishment in Cheonan, South Chungcheong, and struck a subcontracted worker, a person in their 60s identified as A. The incident left A dead.
After receiving the report, the Serious Accident Investigation Division and the Occupational Accident Prevention Supervision Division of the Cheonan branch office of the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL) began an on-site accident investigation and ordered a work stoppage.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL) is investigating the exact cause of the accident and has launched a probe into possible violations of the Occupational Safety and Health Act and the Serious Accidents Punishment Act.
