On Friday the 28th, rain and showers are expected across the country.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 27th, the rain that begins in the morning of the 28th along the east coast and mountainous areas of Gangwon, in the Jeonnam region, the Gyeongnam region, and Jeju Island will spread by late morning to the central and southern inland areas of Gangwon, the Chungcheong region, Jeonbuk, and the Gyeongbuk region.
As for expected rainfall, southern Gangwon, the southern coast of Jeonnam, the Gyeongnam region, and the Gyeongbuk region will see 30–80 mm; the Chungcheong region, Jeonbuk, Gwangju, and Jeonnam excluding the southern coast will see 10–70 mm; Jeju Island will see 5–40 mm (more than 60 mm in some mountainous areas).
There will be places with showers mainly in the greater Seoul area and northern inland Gangwon between morning and evening.
Expected rainfall from showers in Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi, and northern inland Gangwon is 5–50 mm.
Areas with rain or showers may see thunder and lightning with gusty winds, so precautions are needed to prevent accidents.
The sweltering heat is also expected to continue. With heat advisories issued in many places nationwide, the maximum heat index is projected to reach around 33 degrees (around 35 degrees in parts of the south), so efforts are needed to prevent heat-related illness.
Morning lows will range from 21 to 26 degrees, and daytime highs will range from 25 to 32 degrees.
Waves will run 0.5–1.5 meters off the east, west, and south coasts. In the inner offshore waters (distant sea within about 200 km of the coastline), wave heights are observed at 0.5–2.0 meters in the East Sea and 0.5–3.5 meters in the West and South seas.
