Eight South Koreans lost contact after flooding in Nepal.
According to the government on the 26th, flooding in Nepal's Rasuwa region that day cut off contact with eight South Korean employees from Korea South-East Power (KOEN) and Doosan Enerbility who were building a hydropower plant in the area.
The Nepalese government has dispatched a rescue team made up of the army and police to carry out search and rescue operations.
The Korean Embassy in Nepal notified the Nepalese government that contact had been lost with the eight South Koreans and requested a swift and active search and rescue. A consul was also rushed to the scene.
The government set up a task force for the protection of overseas nationals, headed by the Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it will dispatch a government joint rapid response team composed of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Fire Agency, and the Korean National Police Agency to the site in the shortest time, following President Lee Jae-myung's order for an all-out response to ensure public safety.
