Police arrested a foreign woman in her 20s who threw several kittens out of a window at a villa in Gimhae, South Gyeongsang, killing them.
Gimhae Jungbu Police Station said on the 25th that it booked without detention a woman in her 20s from Uzbekistan, identified as A, on suspicion of violating the Animal Protection Act.
A is accused of throwing four kittens she was raising out the window from the fifth floor of a villa in Gimhae on the 5th of last month, killing them.
A was found to have bought or adopted the approximately 2-month-old cats through a pet shop and social networking services (SNS).
In a police interview, A reportedly said that A has depression and threw the cats out the window when not feeling well.
The Busan Animal Love Street Cat Protection Solidarity filed a complaint with police on the 21st after identifying A's crimes.
Police are investigating the specific circumstances of the crimes based on materials submitted by an animal protection group and A's statement.
