Law firm Barun and the Federation of Middle Market Enterprises of Korea (FOMEK) said on the 24th that they will hold the third midmarket scale-up strategy forum on Sept. 9 at 3 p.m. in the main auditorium on the 15th floor of the Barun Building in Daechi-dong, Gangnam District, Seoul.
The forum will be held under the theme "Midmarket growth strategies transformed by AI: Beyond adoption to results and growth." It will spotlight how competitiveness is being redefined from a management perspective for productivity innovation and new business creation at midmarket companies, and how the on-site environments at corporations are responding to AI adoption and diffusion.
The first session is titled "Enhancing our company's competitiveness through AI adoption." KAIST Graduate School of Management of Technology professor Yeo Hyun-deok will deliver a keynote speech on "The AI era: Redefining corporations' management competitiveness." In the following panel discussion, Barun GRC (governance, risk management and compliance) TF attorney Park Sang-oh will moderate as executives from Taekyung Group and YC share insights from the front lines of AI transformation.
The second session is titled "Execution strategies to connect AI transformation to results and growth." Barun compliance team attorney Lee Ui-gyu will present the preparation tasks and response directions corporations need amid a changing regulatory environment, including the Basic AI Act. Then Samjong KPMG Solution&AX institutional sector executive director Lee Seung-geun will introduce "On-site application and performance creation cases of midmarket AI transformation."
In the panel discussion "Can AI become a new growth engine, and how should it be executed," Barun Corporate Strategy Research Institute director Lee June-hee will moderate as executives from Sunic System and executive director Lee Seung-geun discuss in depth the execution plans to achieve consolidation between AI and results and growth.
Kim Hyeon-cheol, executive vice chairman of the Federation of Middle Market Enterprises of Korea (FOMEK), said, "AI has taken root as a key factor determining the productivity and competitiveness of midmarket companies, but many corporations still struggle to apply it on the ground due to constraints in information and resources."
Barun managing partner attorney Lee Dong-hoon said, "We will provide practical insights that can be put to work immediately so that midmarket companies can secure new growth engines while balancing opportunities and risks."
The forum is free for 70 midmarket executives and Head of Team-level managers, and registration will close on a first-come, first-served basis.
