Air Force conscripts who recently enlisted have reported group food poisoning symptoms, and authorities are investigating.
According to the Air Force on the 23rd, more than 70 Air Force conscripts (class 881) training at the Basic Military Training Group under the Air Force Education and Training Command showed suspected food poisoning symptoms, including stomach pain and diarrhea, starting on the 17th.
After receiving medication and IV treatment at the base hospital, most saw their symptoms improve and reportedly returned to their units. The Air Force said there were no severe cases.
Local public health authorities are currently conducting an epidemiological investigation. There is also talk of possible poor management of food ingredients.
The Air Force said that immediately after the incident it conducted a special joint sanitation inspection of all dining facilities on base and instructed all conscripts to strengthen mask use and personal hygiene.
