Rain is expected in most parts of the country on Saturday the 22nd.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the central region is forecast to see heavy rain accompanied by gusty winds, thunder and lightning through the morning. From midday to evening, some areas will see showers in most parts of the country, including the Seoul metropolitan area such as Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi.
Inland Gyeonggi and some inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon are expected to see rain continue until late at night.
Expected rainfall is 5–60 mm for the Seoul metropolitan area including Seoul, 5–60 mm for Gangwon Province, 5–40 mm for the Chungcheong region, 5–20 mm for the Gyeongsang region, 5–60 mm for the Jeolla region, and 5–60 mm for Jeju Island.
The Korea Meteorological Administration said, "Pay attention to facility management and safety accidents," and added, "When driving, visibility will be short and some roads will be slippery, so keep a sufficient safe distance and reduce speed."
The heat wave is also expected to continue for the time being. Daytime highs are forecast at 28–34 C. As of 5 a.m., temperatures were 25.2 C in Seoul, 26.0 C in Incheon, 23.3 C in Suwon, 23.0 C in Gangneung, 25.5 C in Cheongju, 25.0 C in Daejeon, 25.3 C in Jeonju, 26.6 C in Gwangju Metropolitan City, 29.3 C in Jeju, 24.2 C in Daegu, 27.2 C in Busan, 24.1 C in Ulsan and 26.8 C in Changwon.
Fine dust concentrations are expected to be at "good" to "moderate" levels nationwide.
Waves are expected to run 0.5–1.0 m off the east and south coasts and 0.5–1.5 m off the west coast.
