Minor quake hits waters east of Seogwipo; Korea expects no damage

An earthquake with a magnitude of 2.7 struck in waters east of Seogwipo, Jeju, on the afternoon of the 22nd.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, at 7:09:27 p.m. an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.7 occurred in waters 79 kilometers east of Seogwipo, Jeju. The epicenter was at 33.18 degrees north latitude and 127.41 degrees east longitude. The depth was 19 kilometers.

The maximum instrumental intensity was I (1). Most people cannot feel it, but it is recorded by seismographs. The Korea Meteorological Administration said it expects no damage from the quake.
