A woman in her 70s was taken into police custody after she unlawfully activated the emergency brake on a Busan urban rail subway train and brought it to a stop.
According to the Saha Police Station in Busan on the 21st, police booked without detention a woman in her 70s, identified as A, on suspicion of violating the Railroad Safety Act and are investigating.
A is suspected of unlawfully activating the emergency brake in a subway car around 5:30 p.m. on the 20th while a Busan urban rail Line 1 train was running between Dongmae Station and Jangnim Station.
Because of this, the train stopped for about 2 minutes 20 seconds in the middle of the track. The Busan Transportation Corporation checked the scene and then resumed train operations.
Responding to a report, police apprehended A and are investigating the exact circumstances, including why the emergency brake was activated.
