Witness accounts are spreading that at a movie theater in Incheon, a foreign audience member caused a disturbance during a screening of the film "Odyssey," looking at a cellphone and muttering to themself.
On the 20th, posts were uploaded one after another on social networking services (SNS) saying that the day before, at a multiplex theater in Incheon, a moviegoer caused a disturbance while watching "Odyssey."
According to the writer, the audience member muttered to themself in Chinese starting 30 minutes before the end of the roughly three-hour film, and hindered the screening by turning on and using a smartphone inside the auditorium.
A nearby audience member, unable to bear it, confronted the person and told them not to use the phone, but the foreigner reportedly responded in awkward Korean, saying, "I will report to the police." The incident was said to have wrapped up after police were dispatched to the theater.
As the disturbance continued, some audience members reportedly left the auditorium before the movie ended. The theater is said to have apologized and given gift certificates to affected audience members.
