Four members of the same family who were playing in the water at a beach in Uljin, North Gyeongsang, were swept out to sea and drifted before being rescued by the Korea Coast Guard.
According to the Uljin Maritime Police Station on the 19th, a report came in at about 3:39 p.m. on the 18th that four members of the same family were drifting off Bongpyeong Beach in Jukbyeon-myeon, Uljin County. They were believed to have been pushed out to sea while playing in the water on an inner tube and a rubber boat.
After receiving the report, the Uljin Korea Coast Guard dispatched the Uljin rescue team, the Jukbyeon police substation, and a patrol vessel to the scene. Seven minutes after the report came in, the Korea Coast Guard located the family and rescued all four using a powered rescue board.
All of the rescued family members were confirmed to be in good health.
