On the 17th, the last day of the Liberation Day holiday, rain will continue nationwide under mostly cloudy skies. Heavy rain will fall mainly in the Gyeongsang region, and showers are also expected in places across the country in the afternoon.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 16th, it will rain over most areas nationwide in the morning of the 17th and on Jeju in the afternoon. Between noon and evening, showers are forecast in places across the country.
The expected rainfall from this day is forecast as follows: Seoul metropolitan area 5–10 mm, Gangwon Province 5–20 mm, Chungcheong region 5–30 mm, Jeolla region 5–60 mm, Gyeongsang region 30–150 mm (over 150 mm in some places), and Jeju Island 20–70 mm (over 100 mm in some places).
Rainfall from the showers forecast for the afternoon of the 17th is expected to be 5–50 mm in the Seoul metropolitan area, 5–60 mm in Gangwon Province, 5–50 mm in the Chungcheong region, and 5–40 mm in the Jeolla region.
The Korea Meteorological Administration said rain will ease mainly in the central region and the Jeolla region on this day, but through tomorrow morning there will be places, mainly in the Gyeongsang region, with very heavy rain accompanied by gusts, thunder and lightning.
It also urged the public to refrain from approaching rivers and camping, and to prepare for sewer and storm drain backflow, flooded farmland and swift currents, soil runoff and landslides. It added that visibility will be reduced and some roads will be slippery, so use caution for traffic safety.
Temperatures will be similar to normal (morning lows 21–24 C, afternoon highs 28–32 C). However, starting on the 17th, as the rain stops, the Seoul metropolitan area, South Chungcheong and the Jeolla region will feel hot, with maximum apparent temperatures around 33 C.

Along the southern coast of South Gyeongsang, where a strong wind advisory is in effect, some areas will see gusts over 70 kph through the 17th. The Korea Meteorological Administration advised checking facilities and using caution for pedestrians and traffic safety.
Fine dust levels will be "good" in most areas nationwide.
