A car plunged 12 meters from the rooftop parking lot of a food materials mart in Suwon, Gyeonggi, killing a driver in her 20s.
According to police and fire authorities on the 13th, at about 6:27 p.m. on the 12th, a Seltos vehicle broke through the parking lot railing and fell at a rooftop parking lot of a food materials mart in Homaesil-dong, Gwonseon District, Suwon.
Fire authorities dispatched on a report cut part of the vehicle and rescued the driver, identified as A, who was in cardiac arrest. A was taken to a hospital but died about 30 minutes later.
At the time of the accident, A had first dropped off her mother, who was in the passenger seat, then drove forward and broke through a railing made of sandwich panels, plunging about 12 meters, it was found.
A was found to have been unlicensed at the time of the accident.
Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the crash.
